Blooming scrapbooking layout

Hi,
Many of my projects are decorated with flowers. Simply because I like to colour and fuzzy cut them, and layering floral elements feels easy. Flowers also allow me to play with colours, and they look beatiful even when coloured with unusual colour combinations. Often I don't aim for a natural look; I just choose colours that I like and that match nicely to the photo, to the page background or to other embellishments on the layout.

I have my own style of colouring with alcohol markers. The aim is not to create a natural look, but to play with shadows and highlights and to mix colours like they were watercolours. The light highlights I make with a white charcoal pencil; my favourite white drawing pen is General's Charcoal White 558 pencil. I have not come across a better one for this purpose!

The picture of my hubby and me was taken a year ago when we were celebrating my son's confirmation day. Nice memories of that special day!

The beautiful flower stamps are from a bit older set by Honey Bee stamps ('Spring Blossoms'). Used foam square stickers to layer some of the blooms; that's my favourite technique to create a bit of height on the layout.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
