This scrapbooking layout is one of my personal favourites. The material for the blooming embellishments I took from my bag of paper scraps; die-cut flowers are the perfect way to utilize them.
The die set is a Sizzix Thinlits set from couple of years back, designed by Sophie Guilar (#663437). The illustration picture on the Sizzix package does not do justice on the beautiful floral shapes; I was surprised to realize how versatile the set actually was.
Before layering the flowers and leaves on the page I inked the edges of the petals with a matching ink colour. I also decorated some of the flower centers with a white gel pen. Varying the paper colours and mixing and matching the die-cut shapes was great fun!
The cute swallows and patterned circles were fuzzy cut from patterned papers.
The lovely striped patterned paper was a good choice for the page background.
