Hi!
Here's another layout built on a beautiful 49 and Market patterned paper (Spectrum Sherbet collection, Painted Foundations). The paper had some sewing marks on it, so I followed that path and added a few machine sewn stitches on top of the page. The banner row is fuzzy cut from the embellishment paper included in the 12" paper collection.
The pictures were taken in July 2021, when Covid forced us to spend our summer vacation in Finland, close to our home. We spent time exploring nearby places we had always wanted to go to, but had never managed to visit before. Well, all of a sudden there was plenty of time for such explorations!
These pictures ware taken in 'Vartiosaari'; a small island on the eastern archipelago of Helsinki. We learned a lot of the history of the island: early 1900 many wooden villas were built on the island, and wealthy Helsinki citizens spent their summers there, probably enjoying the silence and the fresh air; the very same way we did on our visit.
Walking around the entire island did not take too long, and the views from the eastern lookout cliff were stunning. When walking in the quiet nature you could easily forget that you were actually quite close to the Helsinki city center. Such a beautiful place; we definitely visit that island again.
Wishing you a nice weekend. Hopefully you will have time for some outdoor activities; the beautiful summer is still here!
Hugs,
