Happy bird*day!

Hi!
As I have written earlier, one should always have birthday cards available in stash, especially if you start to think about the birthday card when it's already time to leave for the party (yep, that would be me!)
These party bird stamps by Carabelle Studio / Soraya Hamming are nice to use and also to fuzzy cut, and they're perfect for a technique that I call 'stamp-cut-layer' technique.

First I stamped the main bird image on white paper and cut out. Then I started decorating the bird by stamping the body, hat, wings, tale etc. on various patterned papers. I cut these pieces out and layered them on the main image. By the way, this technique is great for using little scrap pieces of paper as you will not need much of one paper!

This is an easy way to add colour to your images without actually having to colour them!

For the background I used a stencil by the same designer.

I also used the same bird stamp for an art journal page, but this time I coloured the image with Promarkers. The background is a gel plate print, and the circles are stamped with orange ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder

This kind of timeless, playful images you use for various projects again and again. Maybe you have your own favourites i.e. images that are used for various projects many times? 😀

Hugs,
