Hi!
Utilizing scrap pieces of paper and creating layered die-cut embellishments is something I really love to do. When starting I don't usually think too much about how the finished elements will be used, and often they just end up in my embellishment box for a little while. But this time I had a plan from the very beginning.
The trigger for these ATC cards was a group of tiny gnomes came across; I had stamped and colored them some time ago for another project, and the onces I did not need I had kept in my embellishment box. The adorable gnome was just too cute to be thrown away! (stamp 'Gnome Is Where' by Joy Clair)
Size of each card 2.5" x 3.5" (standard ATC, Artist Trading Card)
The autumn themed mushrooms, leaves, flowers and branches are die-cut using a Tim Holtz/Sizzix set 'Funky Foliage', #663087. A pair of tweezers came handy when layering and gluing together the small die-cut pieces!
The backgrounds are cut from kraft cardstock. First I inked the pieces with yellow and brown Distress Oxides (mixing the inks with water on the craftmat and dabbing the cards on the ink drops) and once dry added some stamped patterns (flowers and ornaments by Stampers Anoymous / Tim Holtz).
The green 'moss' is white cheesecloth that I dyed with the recently released 'Rustic Wilderness' Distress ink.
I'm so happy with this set! I'm pretty sure I'll create more autumn themed embellishments and continue creating new layered sceneries. Maybe I should make a card or two?
Thanks for stopping by in my blog!
Hugs,
