It's the first Sunday in February which means that a new inspiration and challenge post has been published at Allt Om Scrap blog!
This time we made winter themed projects. Our title was "Baby, it's cold outside", after this wonderful evergreen song:
In addition to the song we were given this photo to put us in just the right winter mood:
I decided to interpret the freezing cold winter spirit on my project, so here's what I came up with:
I love that "Cold Outside" stamp by 3rd Eye. It really reflects my feelings right now - I'm not a big fan of winter months, and it seems to be that this weekend we'll again be getting more snow. My kids are always so excited when it snows, but their enthusiasm is not making my change my opinion: Let all the snow melt and the spring come soon!
The background of this card is heavy watercolour paper. Before playing with my watercolours I stenciled some colour resisting dots with gel medium. Once the watercolour was dry I added bit of white acrylic paint, and decorated the card with die-cut snowflakes and a star strips. For those embellishments I used three dies from this lovely Sizzix set by Paula Pascual.
The stamped image is coloured with Distress markers and attached to the card front with 3D foam stickers.
I wish you a nice winter day. Stay warm and hop over to Allt Om Scrapb blog for more inspiration!
Hugs,
Beautiful winter card. Very serene, like a sunny winter day - lots and lots of light. I love the color and pattern used.
