Our TIMI January challenge is called ‘Take A Stamp’. Yes, the task is really simple: Just use a stamped image somewhere on your project, and your project can be of any type (card, tag, layout, piece of home decór, etc.) How cool is that!
I decided to create a layered card:
I started with misting the background with light purple and blue colours, and stenciling some random gel medium stars on the sides. Gel medium acted as resist on the background, so when I rubbed some darker blue and purple inks on the background the stars kept the original misted background colours.
I continued with stamping the girl image (using black StazOn as I was stamping on gel medium, too), and covering it with masking fluid.
Then I added more stamped textures on the card: I used black and dark blue inks and my text, cracle, and zig zag stamps. Once finished I removed the masking fluid.
For the upper part of the card I used one of my favorite techniques: Stamping on tissue paper (same stamp and technique I used for my paper mache horse makeover project here). I trimmed the stamped image to fit on the card, and glued it down with gel medium.
I hope you like my project!

Hi Elina, I love everything about this card, the different layers of mediums you have used. I've had some masking fluid for ages n never used it! Never thought to use it with other mediums. So now I'm going to give it a go. Thanks for the inspiration. Xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane,
DeleteIt was not too long ago when I discovered the masking fluids myself. Loved them from the first trials! So easy to use, and they make masking so much easier than when using a piece of fussy cut paper over the stamped image. The masking fluid mask stays on its place, the mists don't run under, easy to remove.... I hope you give it a try!
This is just beautiful Elina. I love the fabulous colours. thanks for a great blog hop and a fabulous prize too
