Last weekend 123 Get Scrappy! revealed a new and exciting challenge grid:
For my layout I used a background I had made months ago. It was a background texture trial with lots of circles punched from book paper and patterned papers, glued down on a light yellow patterned paper and covered with a thin layer of gesso. I thought it was pretty ok, but for some reason I never ended up using it for a scrapbooking project.
A week ago I attended a paper crafting crop, and when packing my supplies for the event I came across this background piece. I had already selected the photo for my layout, and thought that the light colors of the background paper would match the summer theme of my project just fine. Spiced with a hint of pink inks, some pieces of bright patterned papers, stickers, and stamps my project would eventually come together. And it did!
'Pink - Polka Dots - Popsicle' was my selection from the challenge grid.
The honeycomb pattern was small A6 sized sheet I cut into smaller pieces. Flowers and strawberries are stickers by Basic Grey. The leafs are die-cut from yellow cardstock using my favorite Sizzix die. Alpha stickers by American Crafts.
In Finland we are soon entering the darkest season of the year. During chilly and rainy autumn nights I love to take out my summer photos, and mix them together with bright colours and beautiful patterned papers. My crafting moments are so precious for me - creativity is the boost I need to recharge my energy. I'm pretty sure that if you share the passion for paper crafts, hand crafts, and DIY, you know what I'm talking about :)
Wishing you a nice day. Thanks for stopping by!
